 So I went to see A Scanner Darkly yesterday afternoon. Hmm, to tell you the truth I drifted off to sleep about three times during the showing. Strange, I've read the novel twice and really enjoyed it. Animation was interesting, but I am not sure it kept my interest in the story. I was wrong yesterday when I said I knew most of the A Scanner Darkly Artists. I did know most of the Waking Life animators. They all had their own styles which I thought fueled the film. With Scanner, the animation needed, I'm told, to have a consistent style. Anyway, I do know four of the animators: Sterling Allen (a lead animator), Peat Duggins, Paul Ahern, Ryan Hennessee.  Last night after swimming and then running into Ken at Dog & Duck I watched The Seven-Ups. . I kept getting the cops and the mobsters mixed up. Long car chase scene around NYCity made it for me. No rain yesterday, so much for a 70% forecast. Studio is cooler, time to hit the easel. Tags: a scanner darkly
